My Horsey Life

Meet my horses :)

Dressage and trail riding are what we do. We also do ACTHA style obstacle courses. With dressage, think dancing on horseback :)

Classy Lady, King's Southern Classic

King's Southern Classic: Classy Lady is my champion obstacle course/trail horse; I no longer attempt to do gaited dressage with her. She's a double registered spotted black/white Tennessee Walking Horse mare, and she's sweet but has queen bee attitude. She's my princess.

Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody

Bohemian Rhapsody, or Queen around the barn, is Classy Lady's September 2011 Oopsie foal. Surprisingly quite nice despite being 1/4 Friesian, 1/4 Appaloosa, and 1/2 Tennessee Walking Horse, Queen is now a year and looking like she'll top out around 16.2 or 16.3hh. She is quite unexpectedly large despite her breeding, and is a fabulous mover! We're hoping for good things out of this baby as she comes of age :)

Pippa, Fallyn nic Reilly

Fallyn nic Reilly, or Pippa around the barn, is the newest addition to my herd. She is a Connemara/Thoroughbred Cross with famous names such as Carna Dunn and Aladdin on top and Seattle Slew, Northern Dancer, Bold Ruler, Man O'War, and many others on bottom. She is SMART and so quick to learn, and she is a super sweet girl. Despite a rough start elsewhere, she is now really coming along at my farm, and I think she's really going to be something!

The Long and Short of It

If you're a horse person, it can be summed up as "mare vs. gelding" and you'll understand. Dressage is what I do, or at least that's what I do with them when they cooperate! We're working on it :)

Sophie H. Pririe Clifton, who finally helped us figure a lot of our issues out! She really helped open our eyes and stop dogpaddling where Ivan was concerned :)

My Other Life

Stumbling through life, figuring it out as I go. Most of it is consumed by the ponies (ahem, "pony" is a perfectly acceptable nickname and/or petname for any size of horse).
